Malaysia Airlines is the flag carrying airline of Malaysia. After experiencing three periods of unprofitability, the airline has recently embarked on a Business Turnaround Plan designed to improve the airline’s service and encourage people to fly with them.
Malaysia Airlines isn’t afraid to court controversy, and has introduced ‘child free zones’ on many of its aircrafts. Infants are banned from the first class cabin on the MAS Airbus A380s, while children under the age of 12 are refused entry to the upper deck economy section on the same craft. It’s worth noting that the main economy floor has plenty of family friendly facilities, such as extra toilets and a separate entrance.
As well as being a member of the oneworld Alliance, Malaysia Airlines also have two of their own frequent flyer programmes. The first, Enrich, is designed with frequent fliers in mind while the other, Grads, is designed especially for students.
If you’re planning a trip to the land down under, you could be flying with Malaysia Airlines. They’re one of the top carriers on the “Kangaroo Route”, connecting Europe with Australia. They also offer a range of transpacific routes from Kuala Lumpur to Los Angeles, perfect if you’re planning a round-the-world trip.
